The Institute of Economics of the Catholic University of Chile, together with the non-profit research center Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) intend, through the Diploma in Impact Evaluation of Public Programs and Policies, to be a contribution in the training of professionals and researchers, so that they perform as evaluators of impact in both the public and private world.
The Diploma is aimed at professionals who work in the public or private sector. designing, implementing and / or evaluating public policies, as well as researchers. These professionals can come from different areas of knowledge, such as economics, statistics, sociology, political science, public policy, civil engineering, or business administration.
In the course of the Diploma, the students will analyze the existing methodologies for impact evaluation, will see real cases of impact evaluation of programs in Latin America and the world, and will discuss the existing evidence in the field of public policies and social programs through papers published in academic journals.
Data analysis workshops will be held and students will develop an annual project in groups to apply and deepen the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classes.
Schedule: Tuesday and some Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.
Dates: From April 17 to November 27, 2018.
