UNDP launches study on civil society participation in the Chilean legislative process

The report carried out by the UNDP Democratic Governance team was created within the framework of a collaboration agreement with the Bicameral Transparency Group of the National Congress.

The study "The participation of civil society in the Chilean legislative process" describes and analyzes in depth the participation of the third sector in the legislative process of the country, with special emphasis on public hearings in the different permanent committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.

"We hope that this work contributes to generate a debate around the participation and transparency in the legislative process and progress is made in measures that strengthen the relationship between representatives and their representatives, "he said. The report includes a series of recommendations to strengthen the dialogue between social actors and the legislative branch.
