Project B youth obtain license to operate forklift

The 2016 Foundation Program, promoted by the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) and the National Training and Employment Service (SENCE), It benefited 19 young people from the Fundación Proyecto B.

After completing 160 hours of training, this Friday, January 6, the certification ceremony of the young members of the Fork Lift Operation course was conducted, which enables them to use the Class D License to work in the construction industry.  

"Today they are realizing that having real opportunities can transform their lives, because they are capable and can take charge of themselves and their life projects," he said. Juan Pablo Venegas, Executive Director of Project B, at the meeting held at ColungaHUB.

The objective of the Cimientos program is to allow labor insertion  of people who have been deprived of their liberty, through the training of construction trades and subsequent placement in jobs.

The new operators

"I learned how to load the crane, how to move around on the terrain relief and how to check it. It was a good experience because it was something new, something that will serve me for now and the future. I am happy because we achieved the goal that we set ourselves at the beginning and we emerged ", highlights Jesús Barros, 19 years old.

"I learned to know all my colleagues, I get something good from each of them. It was a nice experience because this helps you, it's an important training because I can look for work more easily and be someone, "he says. Alexis Avendaño, 23 years old.

"Here they taught me a trade, I learned to do a job to be able to work and earn my livelihood. I have hope because this is going to serve me enough to find work, it is a great help. I thank my family for accompanying me along the way, "he says. Matías Nadal, 18 years old.
