"We have felt welcomed and we have opened a great door to develop ourselves in the daily work of the foundation"

We spoke with the President of Fundación Infancia Chile, an organization dedicated to creating social awareness, promoting and claiming the rights of children and their families.

How did you get to civil society?

I came to civil society for a conviction, the protection of children and families violated in their rights. I am in civil society 3 years ago and in the foundation 2 years ago.

What is the organization currently working on?

At present Children's Foundation Chile works in advocacy, research and legal representation in family courts, to re-link families that have been separated by a bad proceeding of the protection system.

What is your biggest challenge?

Our biggest challenge is to ensure that children and their families are seen as subjects of rights by State agencies, that the level of institutionalization, of criminalization of poverty, is lowered. We want the State to be responsible for providing tools to families for the upbringing of their children, for all children to have legal representation and for an institutional framework to prevent violations of rights to be established.

How has your experience been at ColungaHUB?

We have felt welcome and a great door has opened for us to develop in the daily work of the foundation.
