With more than 180 applications, the 2017 call for the Colunga Strengthening Fund closed

On Saturday, May 20, the candidacies of the 2017 Strengthening Fund of the Colunga Foundation were closed, which managed to gather 185 projects sent by organizations from Chile and Latin America.

The Colunga Strengthening Fund, which opened its 2017 call on April 20 and closed on May 20, aims to promote an innovation project in social organizations that strengthens the social intervention they carry out and improves quality. of the service they deliver.

Of the 185 applications received, 58 have a focus on education, 24 on overcoming poverty; and 103 work for both purposes. The Strengthening Fund supports projects for a period of up to 3 years, granting a maximum financing of $ 50 million per year.

What are the next stages of the Strengthening Fund?

  • Once the applications are closed, the Colunga Foundation team will evaluate the proposals in relation to the eligibility criteria and will contact each organization to inform them if they pass this first stage or not.
  • The selected organizations must present themselves to a face-to-face or virtual interview with the Colunga Foundation team. The time of this presentation will be 10 minutes, and then proceed to a round of questions.
  • Subsequently, Fundación Colunga will coordinate a visit to the project in the field, with the organizations that have passed the face-to-face interview, in order to have more background to evaluate their work.
  • In the final stage they must present themselves before a "Committee for the Election of the Strengthening Fund", composed of Foundation members and invited experts, who will define the winners of this Fund.

IMPORTANT:

The Thursday, June 1, and by email, the applicant organizations will be notified if they met the eligibility requirements, that is, if their proposals are evaluated by the technical team.
