The call 

We invite you to participate in a learning trip and the possibility of financing your project with up to 25 million pesos!

The call "Undertake The Journey: Discover the heart of your project" is aimed at promoting projects whose target population is children and young people (up to 29 years old) in contexts of vulnerability in the Chilean territory.

We look for teams or organizations with projects or incipient and innovative initiatives at an early stage with potential for consolidation. These projects must have between 6 and 36 months of development, and having performed intervention tests. 

Thematic Lines of the Call

The projects submitted must frame their proposal in one of the following thematic areas:

  • Social inclusion of children and young people with gender equity.
  • Social inclusion of migrant children and youth.
  • Innovative educational strategies in the classroom.
  • Innovative strategies to improve the quality of education.
  • Development of 21st century skills and development of socio-emotional skills.
  • Development of skills in Sciences, technologies, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).
  • Improving the quality of education in rural contexts.
  • Integral development of children and youth through intercultural education.
  • Promotion of the use of public spaces for children and young people.
  • Promotion of social participation of children and young people.
  • Promotion of the rights of children and young people.
  • Innovative educational strategies in non-formal education contexts for children and young people.

Who can apply?

Foundations, corporations and non-profit functional organizations throughout Chile, with current legal personality.

Organizations that do not have legal personality, may present their projects to the eaves of another organization that meets the characteristics of the organizations mentioned above.

What is the trip?

20 selected organizations will live 5 days of training together with the Colunga Foundation, where they will receive tools of social innovation to enhance their initiatives. This pre-consolidation day will be held on November 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2017 [The days of the Pre-consolidation days are modified to 1-2 and 13-14-15 of December 2017] . Then organizations can improve their projects and have the possibility to access a maximum of 25 million pesos in financing. Those who are awarded the financing will go to the Consolidation stage, which seeks to strengthen and support the teams in the development of their projects.  

How to apply?

  1. Download the Bases of the call and the Application Form in Word format.
  2. Complete the Application Form.
  3. Complete it FRegistration icha of the application  
  4. Remember to attach the Application Form in Word or PDF format in the Registration Form. The name of the file must contain the name of the organization in the following format: EV2017-Name of the Organization.docx or EV2017-Name of the Organization.pdf.   
  5. Attach the mandatory information to the Registration Form.
  6. Send the application (only one application will be received per organization).

Applications will be received until 23:59 hours of Santiago de Chile the day October 13, 2017 [Deadline extended until October 18, 2017] 

Mandatory background

  • Certificate of current legal status (if you do not have legal personality, attach the certificate of the organization to the guard from which you will develop the project).
  • Letters of commitment to participate in the project of relevant organizations or actors for the proposed initiative.
  • Letter of commitment from the Project Manager of participation throughout the process. 

Selection criteria

Team: The organization must present a team with experience, technical knowledge, and management skills to meet the objectives proposed in your project.

Social Innovation: The generation of value for society through the incorporation of improvements or new ways of doing things to satisfy a social need better than existing solutions, producing a favorable change in the social system, a scalable and sustainable impact, which promote and strengthen the participation of the community itself.

Social Inclusion:  Expand access to the structure of opportunities, considering that this is achieved through the improvement of the quality of services.

Incorporation of second generation approaches: Priority will be given to initiatives including gender perspective, rights and participation approaches, in the design and implementation of their initiatives

Potential impact: The proposal must clearly state the ways to achieve the expected impact of your project.

Relevance of the proposed solution in relation to the identified problem:The proposal presented must be able to identify faults in the system where it acts, and from that vision incorporate improvements or new ways of doing things. The proposal clearly explains, with consistency and through evidence (conceptual, empirical) the relationship between the problem and the proposed innovation solution.  

About the Innovative Fund 

The innovative Fund of Colunga Foundation aims to expand and improve the quality of innovative social projects at an early stage, promoting innovation processes and consolidation of teams and proposals for social change.

Known here the 2016 version of Emprende El Viaje. 

 

Requirements

The teams that apply for Emprende El Viaje must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Have a project whose target population is children and young people (up to 29 years old) in contexts of vulnerability in the Chilean territory

Be a nonprofit foundation, corporation or organizations.

Have current legal personality or present the certificate of the organization to the eaves of which you will develop the project.

The initiative that gives rise to the project that is being proposed must have between 6 and 36 months of development, and have carried out intervention tests. 

That the project is framed in one of the thematic areas defined by the call.
