After 10 months of learning and collaboration, the first 2030 Social Innovation process will culminate with an International Seminar on June 20 and 21 at the UC Extension Center.
The IS 2030 project, promoted by Fundación Colunga, CoLab UC, Fundación AcercaRedes, Sistema B, the Government Laboratory and CORFO, aimed to accelerate the journey of the Social Innovation ecosystems, through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as path towards the search for a sustainable future.
To that end, several regional workshops have been held throughout Chile. In the process nine regions of Chile have been visited: Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Maule, Biobío, Araucanía, Los Ríos, Los Lagos and Aysén. All the conclusions and new edges are expected to be exposed in the culminating event: the IS 2030 International Seminar, Co-building sustainable futures, between June 20 and 21 at the UC Extension Center.
More than 250 people and 164 organizations from all sectors have participated in the workshops held in the regions. They came together to discuss the 2030 Agenda and the most urgent challenges of each territory with respect to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They also discussed what the role of the local Social Innovation ecosystem should be and who should be part of it to achieve the commitment to "leave no one behind".
The workshops raised relevant information regarding the regional panorama. An example of this is that, in eight of the nine regions visited, the representatives of the Social Innovation ecosystem found that one of the most urgent challenges in their territory is related to look for quality education. On the other hand, the articulating and generating role of public policies was highlighted among the objectives that this framework should have in the path to compliance with the 2030 Agenda.
With these conclusions already systematized, the next meeting will be the IS 2030 International Seminar. The event will be an opportunity to connect, make visible, co-innovate and influence the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda in Chile.
The invitation is to participate together with social entrepreneurs, academics, public innovators, civil society leaders, sustainability experts and organizations with a purpose to inspire us, empower change leaders and, together, design a path towards sustainable development.
