October 18, 2019 is a date that will be marked in the history of Chile, the one where the political and social crisis found a boiling point and exploded citizen demands. For months, citizens have demonstrated in the streets, and several of those moments have been reflected in iconic photographs.

That is why, in the Sala Cable al Arte, in Fundación Colunga, the exhibition was inaugurated “18/10 turning point” by photographer Renato Lorenzo, with snapshots that rescue part of this moment in history.

“This is my form of manifestation, through photography, showing reality. I am very grateful for the experience, it was days of intensity and a lot of adrenaline. It is called that, "turning point", because in mathematics it is a value that gives you a function to change. The turning point can be represented socially and in all areas. We can make changes in the course of things, which reflect us that there is a change in society, ”he reflected Renato Lorenzo.

“We wanted to bring what is happening in the streets to the heart of Colunga. We hope that these photos inspire us and make us have a sense of urgency with the reality that needs to be transformed, ”he said. Arturo Celedón, Executive Director of the Colunga Foundation.
